"Rough and Tumble Play - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"

Presented by Meagan Brame, Owner/Operator of Saxe Point Daycare, Victoria, BC

Many care providers struggle with children that appear to be aggressive and all they want to do is wrestle and fight. So, what do we do with those children? Do we nag them to death with words like "gentle hands" and "we don't play like that" or do we start to question our practice as educators? Is wrestling really a form of violence or physical release and sport?
This workshop will explore one centre's journey around rough and tumble play. Join Meagan in an exploration and dialogue of fears many have with this type of play.

Movement skill development is an essential part of early childhood. Helping children expand their movement repertoire includes developing both the actual skills and language associated with movement.
